Much Violence Expected at FTAA Summit

Peaceful Peoples Outnumber Violent Thugs

A few of the violent individuals descending on Quebec.

As thousands of violent individuals descend upon Quebec City for the Free Trade Area of the Americas (FTAA) summit that began on April 20, much violence and chaos is expected. The meetings, which last through the 22nd of April, have been heavily prepared for by groups all over North and South America. Luckily, as many as fifty-thousand private individual’s are expected to arrive in Quebec City to help defeat the violence.

A gathering of the peaceful individuals expected to counter the violent thugs.

More than 6,500 Canadian Police Officers plus as many as 2000 troops have been gathered from around Canada to be on duty in the city. In addition, various world leaders attending the summit will bring along their own security forces. The American “President” himself personally plans to bring several hundred assorted lackeys, thugs, and goons for his own protection. Quebec City has constructed miles of fence around the city. In fact, part of the reason that Quebec City was chosen as the site is that it is the only walled city in North America. Topping the list of certain violent wrongdoers, however, are the thirty-four FTAA representatives attending the summit.

Two of the most extreme perpetrators of violence plotting their thuggery.

34 representatives, one each from every country in North and South America (excluding Cuba, of course), will represent the FTAA at the meeting this weekend. It is those individuals that are feared to be most violent.

The FTAA allows corporations to bypass democratically adopted environmental or worker protection laws, increasing corporate power while endangering the lives of millions of people, disproportionately affecting women and people of color. Moreover, the FTAA threatens to commodify the lives of citizens of North and South American countries by turning over the control of our schools, electricity, water, and food to corporations whose only interest is more profit. In the process of forcing these lofty goals on the public, violence is often used.

"Enough!" reads this persons sign as the thugs move in for their picnic of violence.

By privatizing services such as education, health care, and energy and water utilities, the FTAA will effectively remove these vital services from all but the wealthiest. Without these basic life-sustaining services, much of the world’s poor will not be able to survive in the FTAA’s New World Order. The least able to pay for these services will suffer the brunt of the FTAA’s violent attack; unable to pay for clean water, basic healthcare, or education, the poor will drift even farther away from the wealthiest North and South Americans.

Some of this sort of privatization has already occurred, and the results have overwhelmingly benefited the rich, with high losses to the poor. Evidencing this was the privatization of Water distribution in Bolivia. When Bolivia privatized its water utility, water rates increased 200 percent, leading to riots that resulted in six deaths.

More of the most violent people to descend on Quebec City laughing at their own incompetent boobery.

For this reason, the expected fifty-thousand private individuals who have donated their hearts, bodies, and minds time to attend the conference, will be extremely useful. The thuggery of the local police, militia-like tactics of the private security force that represent large corporations that will most benefit from the FTAA, incompetent boobery of government official’s (like G.W. himself) protection forces, and general mean-nature of the 34 FTAA representatives, will provide ample challenge for the individual’s on hand to maintain the peace. However, the “protesters,” as the corporate-owned media has dubbed them, have strength in numbers. Outnumbering the FTAA goons almost 5 to 1 (and as a general populace, outnumbering FTAA, government, corporate interests by many thousand times), the peaceful individuals will likely rule the day (but don't be surprised if the mass media giants blame violence on the peaceful individuals, and hail the thugs as heroic). As the FTAA represents so few, and the “protectors” represent so many, it is hard to see how any other outcome may come to pass, even as the FTAA controls the Media, the Government, and the Military. But the People control far more than that, and luckily, there will many on hand for the events this weekend.
