Alliance of Love
Seven lovely night elves and one reasonably cute female gnome compete for the attentions of one lonely geek on World of Warcraft. The catch? Only one of the "girls" is actually played by a female! If he chooses correctly, he'll have a girlfriend he can game with. If he doesn't, he'd better have decent cybersex skills and a powerful imagination. In the top-rated episode, Barry and "Lithinara" bond over the corpses of about a hundred Bristleback Quillboars, only to have Barry's hopes dashed when Lithinara says, "brb, got 2 drain the lizard." Noam Chomsky and Robert Trivers videoFrom Seed: In the 1970s, a Harvard class taught by evolutionary biologist Robert Trivers ignited a controversy that would escalate into the "sociobiology wars." His papers provided a Darwinian basis for understanding complex human activities and relationships. Across town at MIT, revolutionary linguist Noam Chomsky had earned a reputation as a leading opponent of the Vietnam War. Throughout those pivotal years, and in the following decades, the two explored similar ideas from different perspectives. Long aware of each other's work, they had never met until a couple of months ago, when they sat down to compare notes on some common interests: deceit and self-deception.

Finally! Encryption for webmailThis is long overdue. Freenigma uses GPG to encrypt email for Hotmail/Gmail/Yahoo/etc right in the web browser, so un-encrypted messages never travel in plain text. Best of all, plain text emails are not stored by the webmail giants for later leakage to the NSA. Space Colony Art from the 1970sA couple of space colony summer studies were conducted at NASA Ames in the 1970s. Colonies housing about 10,000 people were designed. A number of artistic renderings of the concepts were made. These have been converted to jpegs and are available as thumbnails, quarter page, full screen and publication quality images.

Dr. Seuss explains Network NeutralityWhen Ed Whitacre, the head of AT&T
Says, "They're not gonna use my pipes for free" He's not talking about "them," he's talking about me. He's talking about us, it should be plain to see.
